You heard it here first! Just 24 hours after the Supreme Court’s decision upholding the Affordable Care Act, MHAPBC hosted a Lunch and Learn that explained the effects of the law on you and me. In his presentation, our speaker, Paul Gionfriddo, sounded an early alarm about the possibility that Florida’s Governor would decide not to pursue the Medicaid expansion in the aftermath of the Court’s decision. Sure enough, less than 24 hours later, Governor Scott announced that he would not support the expansion of the Medicaid program!
School is over for the year but we are already preparing for a great next year. MHA is looking for volunteers to mentor children in our public schools as part of our Listen to Children program.
Vets may experience significant and tragic delays in obtaining MH evaluations and services from the VA. But no one has to wait for support services at MHAPBC.
