The purpose of Bringing Change 2 Mind: A Holistic Approach to Recovery conference is to provide an opportunity for people diagnosed with a mental illness and/or a substance use disorder to network and learn how to improve their physical and emotional well-being. Attendees will learn to identify physical and mental health issues, strengthen their abilities to create and direct a personal recovery plan and to better advocate for the services and supports needed to succeed.
Participants will be able to recognize and reduce anxiety in times of crisis, deal with the stress of relocation after a disaster, teach children how to react in emergency situations, and receive resources & information from Beacon Community Partners.

This full-day lecture-workshop, led by nationally and internationally renowned experts will explore the psychological consequences and treatment of combat trauma (PTSD), as well as the impact of deployment and combat trauma on the children of people who go to war.
Anyone who works in the mental health or public health field will be interested in this participatory webinar designed to provide tools to deal with the physical and emotional effects of stress and anxiety in the workplace. Leading experts will provide an overview of the symptoms of secondary traumatic stress (Compassion Fatigue), its prevalence, and impact on mental health and public health professionals. Specific emphasis is placed on learning how to build emotional resilience and manage stress.
Topic for the meeting will be reducing the stigma associated with seeking treatment for mental health disorders. Pam Gionfriddo, MHA CEO, will facilitate and will talk about the It's Okay to Get Help! campaign.
