ATTENTION: Mental Health Professionals and Master's level Students

If you are interested in working in a primary healthcare setting but are not sure where to start, apply for our innovative training and internship program. This training program is for both existing and new mental health professionals. You will have the opportunity to take part in a new initiative introducing integrative healthcare to primary care settings in Palm Beach County. As a trainee, you will conduct behavioral health screenings, provide brief interventions and offer referral resources for clients in need of services. Student applicants who are currently studying mental health counseling, school counseling, family therapy, social work, occupational therapy or nursing are also welcome to apply and can obtain clinical internship and/or licensure hours.

We are proud to announce our new Be Merge training and placement program for mental health professionals. This program will increase mental health care for our county’s families and will expand the workforce, providing opportunities for mental health professionals to obtain employment  in primary care settings. We will be offering a series of workshops that will focus on how to provide mental health screenings, brief interventions and supportive counseling for children and adults in  primary care settings. As part of this program, successful trainees will do a practicum or internship in a pediatrician’s or general practitioner’s office, gaining supervised experience. The result, we hope, will be job placements in new Be Merge Integrated Care sites.

Integrated primary and behavioral health care is the way health care will be delivered in the future. Click here to learn more about our Be Merge Initiative to integrate behavioral and primary health care and our new Be Merge for Infants and Children.
